A VERY GOOD 'read'. Apart from the author's exciting first-hand experiences with man-eaters from that period in the mid-20th century, as covered, it gives the reader additional insights into the rural, village-life of the 'hill people' of southeastern India..
Typical Kenneth Anderson at his best. Don't let the scan of rogue as "rouge" put you off, off-putting as it may seem to be.. Right up there with Jim Corbett's stuff. I think I have read everything of both authors
Fantastic book! Not only was Anderson a great hunter, but he was a wonderful writer as well. I've heard from some that his stories are quite tall, but I have so much fun reading them I don't really care. Enjoy Kenneth Anderson's books!
I started reading this genre sixty years ago, when I was a kid in Amsterdam. I read all of Jim Corbetts' books, in Dutch. Our city library did not have then in English, unfortunately.
Recently, I reread most of his books, which were originally written in English. I felt the same chills as in the fifties.
I've since read Kenneth Anderson's book of this genre, and I was 15 again, except that now I don't check under our bed.

I liked these stories. I like Jim Corbetts better, but I read this cover to cover. This is a collection of shikar stories well told this guy is definitely a sportsman. I am going to get some more.
This one I remember. Very good. I can't believe Corbett and Anderson had the guts to go out and face these man eaters in dark, freezing, raining wheather, knowing that these maneaters can see them and they couldn't see them alone in a tree stand for hours. I love reading these. Wish there were more.
