if you're looking for a book as a 1st time dog owner that has nothing to do with ACDs, then I still wouldnt recommend this book.however that may be the only person that would find any value out of this book.
This book has almost zero ACD specific information. It was as if someone took a book written for another dog or dogs in general and then added a few info that they found from various dog related websites. You can check animal planets website and find out just as much ACD info as you can in this book.
You would think that at least there are some good pictures of ACDs in this book. you would be wrong. It felt like they sent out a mass emailing looking for people home photos of their ACDs and just put what they found in the book.
I would rate this book a zero out of 5 stars if possible.

This book is not about ACD's it is an overall book about Dogs, in my opinion delete in book the words Australian Cattle Dog and insert whatever breed you have . I have been around this breed in Australia and this book is crap crap "DON'T BUY " unless you want to know how to look after a Dog of any breed
Good info, maybe more testimonies from owners that don't show or compete. That would be very helpful for those of us that are just adopting a pet.
I understand the book, but its not quite what I was looking for, but still a good book and learning much about the breed of dog.
Another really good book on HEELERS, and boy they are a very determined breed,.

Thorough book on ACD's
This is an excellent resource for a first time Cattle Dog owner. This was purchased as a gift for a family member prior to getting our second Cattle Dog at the recommendation of the breeder. It was an excellent purchase and I recommend it without reservation.
