Pretty Sacrifices is supposed to be a book for young adults, which it certainly is, but it also a fantastic book for adults. It is a story about a young girl's fight against evil but what is great about it is that the evil is not some type of movie monster; it is the type of evil we all see every day in our lives. It is a fantasy because she does have angels, vampires and witches but they are portrayed as real people. There is an underlying theme of love through-out the book.The story is very well written; I cried, laughed and fell in love with the characters. It is an extremely good story that can make you think. Of course, it is written by a very good story teller, so you can just read it for the pure enjoyment of the story. It can be read on many levels. I love that good overcomes evil in a very realistic way. So if you are looking for something fun to read, this is the book for you. Cannot wait for the next book to come out.

As with the first novel this book is about faith; the faith in love, faith in God and faith in the power of friendship to overcome all obstacles. This book is a must read for everyone! This series will be displayed on my shelf with great pride and read over and over!
This book had me talking out loud, shouting agreement with some of the wisdom shared by characters. I love this author's take on the supernatural, religions and quantum physics and I really appreciate the character development. No two dimensional heroes or villains here! The author shows you everyone's internal struggles and allows you to empathize as everyone does the best they know how. The main character Glory is very easy to identify with and should be a terrific role model for young girls looking to claim their identity in a world awash in media distortion of human ideals in beauty and behavior. Definitely a great read!
Pretty Sacrifices continues where Glory left off with the story of Glory Templeton and her friends as the battle of good vs. evil rages on. When the demoness Nyx comes to town, Glory has to try to save the souls of those she loves.
Devin has an amazing way of breathing life into each character. Pretty Sacrifices is full of angels, witches, vampires, demons, scientific conspiracies, and much more. It might seem like too much for one book but Devin tells the story so seamlessly that you want more of everything but don't feel deprived of anything.
This book elicits a full range of emotions from happiness to depression, from fear to courage. Ultimately you will be inspired by the strength of the characters and their witty yet nobel personalities. Before you finish this book, you will be longing for the next installment in The Legend of Glory series.
In the epic continuation of the life of Glory Templeton you follow Glory through her trials with love, life, and good vs. evil. Now a sworn Warrior of Light Glory has to save the ones she loves from Demoness, Nyx's powerful hold or face the consequences. Meanwhile her friend Kaia from the Moonstone coven is forced to realize her love for Evan and has to make the ultimate sacrifice.
This book bent time and broke my heart while at the same time gave us some amazing looks at how some of the characters came to be the way they were. We get to see one of my favorite characters once again Jinx and her goth girls in both the past and present day. Instead of just being a paranormal romacy-action book this time Pretty Sacrifices took on a very Sci-Fi feel making you question whether or not time is a straight line.
Dominic the hot romantic angel we know and love returns in this book to win Glory's heart and offer her protection you get to see a side of him in this story that was hidden in the other book, his loving side that would honestly do anything to make Glory happy. Zane the other competitor for Glory's heart is back as well but not as the vampire we know and love but as a man from the past as we get a chance to explore his relationship with the woman Glory is connected to the mysterious and gorgeous Hope-Zane's long since dead wife. Both men end up winning you're heart its really hard to pick a side, which means whomever she ends up with you will be cheering in the end.
We are introduced to a sweet little girl Belle Starr and we get to see Glory be a mother and not just a hero, overall this book blew my mind. I was clinging to every page and couldn't put it down. This book re-defines a page turner for me I couldn't even begin to think about anything else I found myself contemplating this book even when I was at work and like with the first book Glory I am sure I will be thinking about this book until the third installment comes out.

I read Pretty Sacrifices during our power outage earlier this week, and my only criticism is that it didn't take me all 5 days to read it - I finished it off within a day. Pretty Sacrifices is a sequel to Glory, and its continuity of the first book is flawless and well thought-out. I appreciate how Devin oh-so-subtly slips in the morality of being good stewards to all beings, some of whom are definitely not in mainstream society. With all the hate that has seemingly blossomed over the last 40-50 years in our country, it's a shame that more authors don't incorporate well-fleshed out eccentric (and out-of-this-world!) characters into their fiction as Devin does; we need reminders that not everything is as it seems, and there really are people who can connect to the metaphysical without being overtly conspicuous while they do it (I'm thinking of the New Age teen witches and how they thought they needed to "look" the part versus Kaia and her coven, etc.).
